New competition for subsidized housing loans is about to start. The tender will begin at the beginning of September, and €42 million is available. The subsidy will last five years, the loan must not exceed €100,000, the price per square meter is €1,200, and the loan duration cannot be less than 15 years.

In a new round of subsidized loans, Petra Galić is also starting. Instead of taking a break at the end of the year, she is gathering documents and looking for an apartment.

"The war costs from €3 to €3.5 thousand kuna, which means that the savings from the subsidies amount to around €10,000. I think it's better to have something than nothing," she said.

Subsidizing the loan also has negative consequences. Namely, due to it, the price per square meter has also increased, but experts claim that there will be no further increases.

"The interest is not large as it was last year, and we do not expect further price increases, but rather stabilization at these levels. However, the fact is that subsidies were the trigger that led to the price increases," explained Borislav Vujović from the Croatian Chamber of Commerce's Real Estate Business Association.

To purchase an apartment, among other things, you will need to submit the following documents: a photograph of a personal ID, a sales and purchase agreement for the apartment or house for which credit approval is being requested, a photograph of a land register extract, and a photograph of an act for the use of the building in which the apartment is located, or a photograph of an act for the use of the house.

So far, 2,320 loan applications have been approved. The average apartment area is 100 square meters, and €42 million is guaranteed for this year. Subsidization should last for another two years.
